kick-off meeting of working group devoted to task 3.2 on gas hubs
In line with the approved work programme below, activities of the Gas Platform will address some cross-cutting issues impacting gas developments in the Euro-Mediterranean region. One of those cross-cutting issues is on gas hubs.
Task 3.2: Gas hubs: The study will provide an advisory assessment of the conditions for creating and developing a number of liquid, well-functioning and well-interconnected gas hubs, which would allow tapping the potential of natural gas in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
In order to discuss and fix the content of this task, define the activities, and also have a brainstorming on gas hubs related matters, the UfM Gas Platform Secretariat is launching a dedicated Working Group. The kick-off meeting of the Working Group took place on 23 November 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, on the occasion of the MedaWeek Barcelona 2018 (Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders) held from 21 to 23 November 2018.
The meeting gathered delegates from all backgrounds, ministries, institutions and industry, from both shores of the Mediterranean. They all contributed to vibrant discussions (under the Chatham House Rule) and participated to the success of the event. The plan is to have a final draft report to be ready by the end of 2019.
